Ground Improvement
Stone columns, jet grouting, PVD, vacuum consolidation and compaction for weak and compressible soils.
Ground Improvement at SRGPL
Soft, loose and compressible soils can be engineered to carry embankments, tanks, buildings and pavements. Our engineers design and deliver the right ground improvement technique for the soil profile, settlement criteria and programme.
Ground improvement is backed by our own investigation, instrumentation and load testing, so performance can be verified on site.

Ground improvement techniques
5 items- 01Stone Columns (Dry & Wet)
- 02Jet Grouting
- 03Prefabricated Vertical Drain (PVD)
- 04PVD by Vacuum Consolidation
- 05Compaction
Choosing the technique
Stone columns
Dry or wet installation to strengthen soft and loose soils under embankments, tanks and industrial floors.
Jet grouting
Columns of soil-cement formed in place, for underpinning, cut-off walls and excavation support.
Vertical drains
PVD, with or without vacuum consolidation, to speed up settlement of soft clays before construction.
Verified on site
Our own stone column load tests, plate load tests and settlement instruments confirm the improved ground performs.
Often combined with Ground Improvement
Drilling & GroutingPressure, consolidation, curtain, permeation, compaction and chemical grouting.
Geotechnical InstrumentationSupply, installation and monitoring of piezometers, inclinometers, settlement markers, extensometers and strain gauges.
In-Situ TestsPlate, stone column, footing and bridge load tests, CPTu, k-value, Ev2 and pressuremeter tests.
Pile Load TestsStatic vertical load tests up to 5000 t, bi-directional up to 12000 t, lateral, cyclic, pull-out and plate load tests.
